The Ju-on
I went and watched the Ju-on (the Grudge for North Americans) yesterday night. Having only heard that it was scary, I thought I could try my luck and see it. There were a few points in the movie where I was peeking through a crack in my fingers that were covering my eyes, and some parts I didn't watch all together. You know when the music starts to get creepy, and speeds up, that something is about to happen. However, I must say that lots of the movie was funny, kinda like The Excorcist was funny. I had heard that the Exorcist was the scariest movie of all time (don't forget that it was made back in the 70's), but then I watched it, and there was seriously many laugh out loud moments. I wonder if I could have watched the Ju-on without looking away. Even so, I drove home with the light in my car on. One thing that was creepy was the boy with the voice of a cat. I've got an injured-sounding cat that sounds just like that that lives near my apartment. And it meows like that, especially at night. The next time I hear that cat, the hairs on the back of my neck are sure to stand up.
